Flag of Morocco
The Moroccan flag consists of a deep red leaf on which is placed a green pentagram or “Solomon’s Seal”. This symbol was only added to the flag in 1915 to distinguish it from the flags of other Arab nations. Both green and red are the traditional colors of Islam, with red being the color of the Moroccan flag since the 16th century. Red is said to symbolize the blood relationship with the Prophet Muhammad and the king, but is also sometimes interpreted as a symbol of the nation’s freedom. Morocco was a former French colony until 1956, but unlike other colonized nations, it did not adopt the French tricolor and retained its flag during this period.
Morocco is located in northwestern Africa and is separated from the European continent by the Strait of Gibraltar. Because of the Western Sahara conflict, Morocco’s southern border is internationally controversial until a UN referendum is held on the future membership of Western Sahara. Morocco: Rabat
According to Abbreviation Finder, Rabat is the capital of Morocco. It is located on the Atlantic coast at the mouth of the Bou-Regreg River. Around 600,000 people live in Rabat. Together with the sister city Salé on the opposite bank, even 1.2 million people live here.
However, Rabat is not the largest city in the country because that is Casablanca with 3.6 million inhabitants. But Rabat is one of the four royal cities of Morocco. Here and in Fez, Meknes and Marrakech lived the kings and their families who had ruled the country since the 9th century.
