Flag of Zambia
The basis of the flag of Zambia, which was adopted in 1964, is a green leaf. The flag is unusual in that additional symbols are placed on the mast side of the flag. Here we find three colored stripes, above which an eagle spreads its wings, taken from the coat of arms of the country. The green color is supposed to resemble the lush vegetation of the earth and the eagle unceasing hope in the hearts of the people. The three stripes in red, black and orange were taken from the flag of the UNIP party in 1964, which led the country during the independence struggle. The red represents the blood shed during these battles and the black represents the African people. The orange color is said to refer to Zambia’s mineral wealth, especially the country’s copper reserves.
Zambia (Republic of Zambia) – formerly Northern Rhodesia – is a republic in southern Africa. It borders Angola, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia. Its name is derived from the Zambezi River. See Zambia Location on World Map.
As a developing country, Zambia wants to promote its economic ties and attract foreign investment. Relations with its neighbors and the large western states such as the USA, Germany and the former colonial power Great Britain, which donate development aid, are important for Zambia. The most important foreign policy reference point for Zambia in Africa is South Africa. An increasingly important partner is the People’s Republic of China, which is investing in Zambia’s mining and energy sectors.
Zambia is a member of the Southern African Development Community ( SADC ), the Southern and Eastern African Common Market (COMESA) and the African Union.

Zambia: Lusaka
According to Abbreviation Finder, the capital of Zambia is Lusaka. Like many cities in Africa, Lusaka proves that Africa is not only made of wilderness and beautiful landscapes, but also has a modern side. With all the consequences that such developments bring with them. There is a lot of construction going on and some things seem chaotic at first glance. Cars, people, traffic noise and construction noise shape the cityscape at first glance.
But there are also many markets where the Zambians sell their goods, whether fruit, fish or meat, whether car parts or toys or clothes. The capital is growing. New shops are emerging, old buildings are being restored and modern office buildings are reaching the sky. Lusaka is one of the fastest growing cities in central Africa.
