Flag of Seychelles
The Seychelles flag was adopted in 1996 and consists of five flaring rays emanating from the lower mast corner. The stripe colors are, from left to right, blue, yellow, red, white, and green. These colors are meant to symbolize the country’s fresh and bold approach to the future. The blue color represents the sea and the sky, and yellow the sharp rays of the local sun. Red symbolizes the people and their determination to work hard for the future of the country. White traditionally represents harmony and social justice, and green the earth and the environment. This color spectrum also contains the colors of all Seychelles political parties.

The republic consists of 115 islands and is divided into 32 mountain islands (mainly granite stone), which represent the actual Seychelles, and numerous small coral islands, the so-called Outer Islands, which are spread over an area of over 400,000 km².

The largest city in Seychelles is Victoria, the capital. Located on the island of Mahe, it has a population of around 25 thousand people and is a vibrant city with plenty to explore. Popular attractions here include Botanical Gardens which offer stunning views over the city; National Museum of History which houses some fascinating artifacts; or Clock Tower Market where visitors can explore some interesting souvenirs.
