Flag of the Central African Republic
The flag of the Central African Republic was adopted in 1958. It was designed by the president of the Oubangui-Chari territory, Barthélem Boganda, a great supporter of the partnership with France. The flag is composed of a total of five stripes, four of which are horizontal and one is vertical. The red, white and blue stripes refer to the country’s colonial past and the pan-African colors red, yellow and green refer to belonging to other African nations. The red vertical stripe that connects the other stripes is meant to commemorate the blood shed during the freedom struggle. In addition, a yellow five-pointed star is placed at the top of the mast side of the flag, which is a symbol of African unity, progress and tolerance.
The Central African Republic (Sango Ködörösêse tî Bêafrîka) is a landlocked country in Central Africa. The landlocked location, inadequate transport infrastructure and a lack of qualified workers made the country’s economic development difficult even during the colonial era, and with independence came corruption and political instability.
The reign of terror by Emperor Bokassa (1965-1979) was followed by a military dictatorship. Although democracy was restored in 1993, there is no political stability and there have been a number of coups. Since the overthrow of President Bozizé in March 2013, the Central African Republic has seen another wave of violence. Their state structures have now almost completely disappeared. Neither the transitional government nor international missions succeed in stabilizing the country.
The Central African Republic is one of the poorest countries in the world and has almost no infrastructure. The standard of living of the population is extremely low.
Travel throughout the Central African Republic involves significant risks. There is a risk of violent crime (kidnapping, looting, street robbery) and of military action across the country. Following attacks, the Republic of Cameroon has partially closed border crossings temporarily. For security reasons, Bangui Airport may be closed to civilian air traffic at short notice.

The Central African Republic (CAR) is a landlocked country located in the center of the African continent. Bambari is another major city located in CAR with a population of just under 50,000 people. This small town offers plenty for visitors to explore including its vibrant markets selling fresh produce and local crafts as well as several cultural attractions such as traditional villages and sacred sites like Mount Ngaoui!

Central African Republic: Bangui
The capital of the Central African Republic is Bangui. It is located in the southwest of the country on the Ubangi River. On the other bank is the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
